Hi everyone. I know it's been a long time since I've rapped at 'cha. I really don't want blogging to feel like a chore - otherwise, what's the point? - but lately it has, hence my reluctance to post. I'm not outright eightysixing the blog - that'd be just a touch dramatic - but I've been so busy over the past month or so that I haven't had time to sit down and write, as much as I've wanted to.
So, I've got a rare Friday night off. My boss was out all week with the flu, which ran roughshod over my usual Wednesday off. He's back today, so I took today off. (I know the last three sentences were syntaxically nightmarish. Shut up.) All the kids are at work, so I've been taking some time to pay some bills, hang out, get some menu ideas down on paper, and plan the next few months of my life.
The most exciting thing of the night, sadly enough, has been the two hours I've spent on my personal budget. I'm not massively in debt or anything, but I've built up a little bit, thanks to some emergency (and not-so-emergency) expenses. I was looking at the numbers earlier today, and it was just intimidating, especially when there are things I want to do in 2009 - like buy a car, work for a couple weeks in France, and move to an apartment that contains an actual bedroom. So, I sat down with the bills and calculator, and was pleasantly surprised. I'll have my Juniper Visa (the company that holds the loan on my computer, aside from being a normal credit card) paid off by the beginning of March, my Capital One card (which was supposed to be used just for "emergencies" in the UK last February) paid off by the beginning of May, and a down payment for a decent car in mid-July. This is exciting stuff, people. My life is becoming (gasp) ORDERLY!
Anyways, I really have no other news. Just wanted to share that with y'all.

Wow, you actually say what you're gonna do. You've gotten the apartment, the car, paid off your debt .. looks like all you have left is France.
